Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album Modern Country – which includes the singles ‘Sunken Garden’ and ‘Kingdom of Jones’ – William Tyler has announced a performance at London’s Bush Hall.

His first ever full band performance in the UK takes place on 20th November 2016, and tickets can be ordered here.

Modern Country features an ensemble backing group consisting of multi-instrumentalist Phil Cook (Hiss Golden Messenger, Blind Boys of Alabama), bassist Darin Gray (Tweedy, Jim O’Rourke), and percussionist Glenn Kotche (Wilco).

William Tyler will support Wilco in Europe this November. He’ll also play at the Bon Iver-curated Eaux Claires Music & Arts festival. Order Modern Country on CD or LP here, or digitally via iTunes.

Praise for Modern Country

‘Think old blues riffs with a chrome finish — sleek, and, well, modern – a reinvention and re-contextualization that pays stunning tribute to what came before it’
‘Album of the Week’ 8/10 SPIN

‘Modern Country is distinctly rural in flavor, accentuated by deep sliding guitars and plenty of Tyler’s unmistakable finger-style’
4/5 Tiny Mix Tapes

‘Tyler’s record is free and weird, big and wild. In it are expanse, elegy and celebration. Everywhere is wonder’
NPR Music

‘An exquisitely warm, olde-worlde soup in which to bathe one’s auditory senses’

‘Tyler creates an entire world of hazy afternoons full of yellowing grass and rippling tarmac – it’s gorgeous, uplifting, and tinged with moments of clarity’
The Line of Best Fit

‘Tyler is a musician who has consistently shown throughout his career that there is more to be wrung from twelve-string acoustic guitar instrumentals than anyone might reasonably think – Modern Country once again proves that to be true’
