In March earlier this year, long before you and I had even thought about summer, let alone Christmas, Passion Pit’s frontman Michael Angelakos locked himself away from the rest of the world to embark on what would become an incredibly personal, revealing project.
Working alongside Angelakos was former Harlem Shakes band member Brent Katz and debut director Hana Haley who together helped transform his idea into a magical video album of childhood Christmas sentiment.
Filmed in just four days with the help of 32 students from Angelakos’ former school, ‘Merry Christmas Mr Fields’ is a dreamy amalgamation of classic 1940’s orchestration, post Beatles John Lennon earnestness and sublime, musically influenced visuals. It’s narrative, thought provoking and offers a modern take on Christmas we are always so eager to see.
In keeping with the Christmas Sprit, AKH Productions will be donating all proceed to Charity and the Nicols School Arts Department.
